Coding level
Course goal
This level introduces Artificial Intelligence in a hands-on, playful way. Students learn what AI actually is, how it learns from data, how to communicate with it clearly, and where it can be trusted. Coding is optional throughout, so no prior technical experience is needed.
Who this level is for
Required
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet
- Basic browser and internet use
- Able to type simple sentences
- Curious and willing to experiment
Helpful, but not required
- • No previous knowledge of AI or programming is required.
Group course · 10 weekly classes
One hour a week for ten weeks — ten hours in total. Nine teaching classes, then a final presentation delivered to parents.
| # | Class | What is covered | In class |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | What is AI? | Where we meet AI every day, and how it differs from an ordinary computer program. | Game: AI or Not AI? |
| 2 | How Does AI Learn? | Learning from examples, finding patterns, training and prediction. | Students act as a human AI |
| 3 | AI and Data | Text, images, sound and numbers. Why data quality changes everything. | Build a dataset for an imaginary AI |
| 4 | Generative AI | AI that creates text, images, music and ideas, and how that differs from older AI. | Invent a story, character or world |
| 5 | Prompting Basics | Asking clearly: what I want, the important details, the context, the format. | Prompt improvement challenge |
| 6 | AI Creativity Lab | Using AI to write, design, brainstorm and explain. | Mini project: an original invention |
| 7 | Can AI Be Wrong? | Hallucinations, why AI sounds confident when wrong, and how to check. | Ask, think, check, verify |
| 8 | AI Safety and Deepfakes | What never to share, privacy basics, fake images and misinformation. | Brief issued at the end of class |
| 9 | Train Your First AI and Build | Collect, train, test, improve using a no-code tool, then build the project. | Guided project work |
| 10 | Final Presentation | Students present their research and what they built, then take questions. | Parents attend |
The project brief is issued at the end of Class 8. Students research and build between sessions, with guided support in Class 9, and present in Class 10.
Class 10 · Final presentation
The closing class is held with parents and the instructor. Each student presents the research they have done and the thing they have built, then answers questions.
The brief
Use AI to solve a problem or create something useful, creative or interesting. Each student receives a written brief.
What students prepare
- • Research into the problem they have chosen
- • A prototype, trained classifier or working demonstration
What they present
- • What they made and why
- • How AI is used in it, and what they would improve
Format: a five to ten minute presentation followed by questions from parents and the instructor.

What your child leaves with
“I understand what AI does, how it learns, and how to use it safely and creatively.”
Takeaway. AI literacy, a trained no-code model, and a first AI project the student can show and explain.
AI can help you think, but it should not think instead of you. Students are taught to question outputs and understand limits, not to depend on the tools.
